So it’s almost Half-Ironman time everybody and I thought I would share with you one of my last training sessions, the ‘Selfie-Training-Tour-of-London’. Read on for more…
For those of you fortunate enough never to have done triathlons or half-ironmans, it involves a splash of swimming, a slither of cycling and a….reel(?) of running. Over the past few weeks the training has been particularly hard as the distances have steadily increased. Now, with less than 2 weeks to go I have begun the ‘tapering’ phase – i.e. chilling the hell out (at least in terms of distances anyway!). Above you can see my FAVOURITE tapering circuit: a 25 minute cycle through the streets of Chelsea to Hyde Park, a refreshing dip in the Serpentine and a casual cycle past Buck Pal, Big Ben, the London Eye and (with a somewhat anti-climax…) into work at London Bridge. Once I get a little more tech savvy I shall endeavour to post routes and the like so that you can follow me, much in the same vein as Challenge Charlie!
In the meantime, please donate as much or as little as you can to our amazing cause the RNLI, in memory of Charlie and to help save lives at sea.
The Half-Ironman will be taking place on Sunday 29th June by Lake Ullswater in Cumbria, where I will be joined by the other crazy, Tim Mccosh. Hopefully see a few of you there if you fancy a cheeky weekend away.
More updates to hopefully follow soon!
